Real Madrid have confirmed that Fede Valverde has sustained an injury to the semimembranosus muscle in his right leg, following medical tests conducted today by the club’s medical team. “His recovery will be monitored,” the official statement reads.
The Uruguayan midfielder experienced discomfort in his right adductor during the final minutes of the last match, prompting Xabi Alonso to substitute him in the 83rd minute as a precaution. Further assessments revealed a hamstring injury that will sideline him for around 10 days.
As a result, Valverde will not join the Uruguay national team for their upcoming friendlies against Mexico and the United States. His priority now is recovery, with the goal of returning in time for Real Madrid’s first fixture after the international break — on November 13 against Elche at the Martínez Valero Stadium. If his rehabilitation goes as planned, the number 8 should be fully fit for that match.
