Real Madrid did not specify the length of Álvaro Arbeloa’s contract in the official statement announcing his appointment as first-team coach. That omission has fueled speculation in recent hours, particularly after the Copa del Rey defeat against Albacete. Amid the uncertainty, a familiar name has resurfaced around the club: Jürgen Klopp.

The German coach played down the rumors a few days ago, but reports from Germany continue to link him with Real Madrid, especially in the context of launching a new project from scratch next summer. The latest to reinforce this possibility is Florian Plettenberg, a Sky journalist widely regarded as a reliable source on all matters related to Klopp.

According to Plettenberg, Klopp is seriously considering a return to management if Real Madrid makes a concrete move in the summer. He reiterated that the club has always fascinated Klopp. While the former Liverpool coach is currently happy at Red Bull and strongly identifies with its project, there are two destinations that could convince him to return to the touchline under the right circumstances: Real Madrid and the German national team.

For these reasons, Plettenberg describes the Klopp Real Madrid link as “a story to keep in mind for the summer of 2026.” As a result, the prospect of seeing Klopp at the Santiago Bernabéu next season appears more realistic than it might initially seem.
