Iraola knows Fran García well from their time together at Rayo Vallecano and has full confidence in the defender, believing he would have been a strong addition to his squad.

For his part, Fran García was open to a change of scenery due to his limited playing time at Real Madrid. Carreras is currently ahead of him in the pecking order, and Fran did not feature in the most recent match. Arbeloa once again opted to use Camavinga at left-back, a tactical decision that has been repeated on several occasions.
