Real Madrid made a number of new signings during this summer, including Dzanan Musa. The Bosnian guard joined the club's training camps after an impressive performance in EuroBasket 2022, and he has since participated in a number of friendly games.
Musa, who averaged 20.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 3.1 assists for 23.1 PIR last season, was among the best players in the Spanish Liga Endesa. With his national team, he had nearly the same stats: 21.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 20.4 PIR.
Naturally, a lot of teams were contacting the player at the end of the previous campaign. Musa claims he was unable to reject Real Madrid, though.
"I had quite a few [offers], but as soon as the one from Madrid came to me, just after the season was over, I made the decision to come here," Musa told Diario AS. "Madrid is one of the biggest in the world. If they call you and you have an opportunity to play here, you can't turn it down."
The player said, "For me, it is a challenge to be on a team with great players and also good guys, who will help me grow as a player and as a person.
"Every game will be important from the start of the season onward. Every rival is more motivated to defeat you when you are wearing the Madrid shield on your chest "Musa explained.
