According to Blinkfire Analytics, Real Madrid gained 1.7 million followers on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube during the weekend of the club's 14th Champions League title. This figure is significantly higher than the previous competition winners, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, and Liverpool. No team has seen such growth on social media on the weekend of the final since they won the Decimotercera in 2018. After that, they gained 900,000 new followers.
Real Madrid's total number of interactions in the Paris final is also higher than that of the previous champions. With 136 million engagements (on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube), the club has more than doubled the figures of previous years' winners. In fact, Real Madrid was the next most engaged team in 2018, with 78 million total interactions.
Real Madrid gained 3.1 million new followers across all of their social media channels on May 27, 28, and 29, with TikTok (1.4 million) and Instagram (1.2 million) accounting for more than 80% of the total.
The club, however, not only gained the most followers, but it also had the highest average daily engagement, with 35.8 million on Instagram and 8.3 million on TikTok. Instagram has surpassed 100 million total interactions, while TikTok has surpassed 200 million views.
