On March 6, 1902, the first Board of Directors of Madrid Foot Ball Club was officially elected, laying the foundation for what would become the most decorated club in football history. Today, 123 years later, Real Madrid stands as a global benchmark, proudly holding 26 European Cups—15 in football and 11 in basketball—and earning the distinction of being named FIFA's Best Club of the 20th Century.
In 2024, the club added five more prestigious titles to its already legendary list of achievements. Real Madrid extended its European supremacy by clinching the Decimoquinta (15th European Cup) at Wembley, while also securing the Club World Cup for a record ninth time. They also lifted the La Liga title, the European Super Cup, and the Spanish Super Cup. The basketball team continued its winning tradition, capturing its 37th La Liga trophy.
This anniversary serves as a celebration of Real Madrid's continued legacy of excellence and its place as one of the greatest institutions in the world of sports.
