Twenty-five years ago, on September 12, 1999, the greatest goalkeeper in Real Madrid's history played his first official match for the club. Iker Casillas, who joined Real Madrid at the age of 9, made his debut at 18 at San Mamés stadium in a match against Athletic Club, which ended in a 2-2 draw.

That game in Bilbao was the first of 725 matches Casillas played for Real Madrid, making him the second-most capped player in the club's history, trailing only Raúl (741 appearances). His memorable saves, like those in the Champions League final against Bayer Leverkusen, and the trophies he lifted during his captaincy, remain cherished moments in fans' memories.

Casillas won 19 titles with Real Madrid: 3 Champions League trophies, 3 Club World Cups, 2 European Super Cups, 5 La Liga titles, 2 Copa del Rey trophies, and 4 Spanish Super Cups. He also led Spain to victory in the 2010 World Cup, where he earned the Golden Glove, as well as the 2008 and 2012 European Championships.
