Kylian Mbappé was radiant with happiness. He had just received his first Golden Boot—one of the most prestigious awards of his career and one he fully deserved. But there was a surprise he didn’t expect.
As the interview came to an end, Juan Ignacio Gallardo, director of Marca, had one last gesture prepared for him. After asking the final question, he handed Mbappé two miniature Golden Boot replicas—one for him and one for his father, Wilfried Mbappé, who was in the room watching proudly.
"So you can always keep one close—one for you and one for your father," Gallardo said while giving him the gift.
Smiling, Mbappé responded with humor and gratitude: "What’s this? Another boot! (laughs). This one’s easier to carry every day. Thank you again."
