Former footballer Gabby Agbonlahor, who played for clubs such as Aston Villa, has weighed in on Trent Alexander-Arnold's anticipated move to Real Madrid, a move that's no longer a secret in England.

"I think anyone criticizing this decision is being foolish," Agbonlahor said regarding Alexander-Arnold's choice to make the summer switch. "Any Liverpool fan, or fan in general, should realize that Trent has already won every trophy with his childhood club. Now, he has the chance to play for the biggest club in the world, a team that has lifted 15 Champions League titles. How can anyone say no to that?"

Agbonlahor continued: "You’re going to play alongside Mbappé, and your friend Jude Bellingham from the England squad, at one of the most historic clubs in football. Yes, Liverpool is a historic club, but no one can turn down Real Madrid, regardless of who you are."

He added: "Trent would never move to another Premier League club, or to AC Milan, Inter Milan, Juventus, or even Bayern Munich. I doubt he’d go to Barcelona either, despite their size. Turning down Real Madrid is simply not an option. And beyond football, the lifestyle? Jude Bellingham will tell him all about how life is as a Real Madrid player."
