Trent Alexander-Arnold, one of Liverpool’s most iconic homegrown talents, has officially announced he will leave the club at the end of the season when his contract expires. The statement was confirmed by both the club and the player through social media.
“Trent Alexander-Arnold has informed Liverpool FC of his intention to leave the club this summer upon the expiry of his current contract,” the Reds shared via their official X (formerly Twitter) account.
Shortly after, Alexander-Arnold posted an emotional farewell: “After 20 years at Liverpool Football Club, the time has come to confirm that I will be leaving at the end of the season. This is undoubtedly the hardest decision I have ever made.”
He explained that the delay in addressing the rumors was to keep the team focused on securing its 20th league title: “It was always my intention to focus on what was best for the team.”
The England international expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone at the club—from coaches and staff to teammates and fans. “This club has been my life for two decades. I’m stepping out of my comfort zone for a new challenge, professionally and personally,” he added. “I’ve given my all every day, and I hope I’ve made you proud.”
