Carlo Ancelotti addressed the media after Real Madrid's defeat to Espanyol at Cornellà, reflecting on the match that ended the team's excellent run and added pressure ahead of the upcoming derby.
He spoke about the controversial decision by the referee not to issue a red card to Espanyol's Carlos Romero for his dangerous tackle on Mbappé: "It was a tough match. We did well, controlled the game, and generated 20 shots... The decision on that foul is inexplicable, both from the referee and the VAR. The risk of injury was very high. VAR is there to protect the players. It's inexplicable that it wasn’t a red card."
