Aurelien Tchouameni has proven to be a dependable makeshift center-back for Real Madrid, stepping up during the club’s recent defensive crisis.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Carlo Ancelotti now sees center-back as Tchouameni’s ideal position within the squad. The Italian coach believes that the Frenchman’s limitations become more apparent when he plays as a defensive midfielder or in a midfield pivot, likely due to issues with pace or lack of protection.

However, Tchouameni has delivered more consistent performances as a center-back, and Ancelotti plans to continue deploying him in that role for the foreseeable future.

The Frenchman has started the last four matches in central defense for Real Madrid, forming a strong partnership with Antonio Rudiger and contributing to a couple of clean sheets.
