At half-time in Real Madrid's match against Milan, Carlo Ancelotti made the decision to substitute Aurélien Tchouaméni and Fede Valverde, bringing on Eduardo Camavinga and Brahim Díaz. Following this, Mina Bonino, Valverde's wife, took to Twitter to voice her frustration, writing, "I have to finish this better because they're taking me prisoner."
When a Twitter user responded by suggesting it was a tactical decision, Bonino replied, "Bro, Fede plays best as a pivot. What are you talking about? When are they going to understand that Fede is not a winger?"
After the game, Ancelotti was questioned in the press conference about the tweet and explained the reason behind Valverde’s substitution: "From what people think on social media... for me it's very complicated. I took him off because he wasn't 100%. He had back problems. It seemed like he had recovered since he trained well yesterday, but during the game, it looked like he wasn't at his best physically, which is why I made the change."
