Real Madrid's attacking squad, according to the club's official website, currently includes five players: Mbappé, Vinicius, Rodrygo, Brahim, and Endrick. However, there is effectively a sixth player who is expected to make a significant impact in the 2024-25 season: Arda Güler. The Turkish player is set to be Ancelotti's versatile asset, capable of playing in midfield as an inside or attacking midfielder, and in attack as a right winger or forward. He notably shone in the recent European Championship, where he scored one of the tournament's best goals.

Ancelotti hinted last season that he sees Güler's potential as a forward: "I think the closer to the goal, the better. He is very effective, he scores a lot with little space, he has a special talent. He shows it better closer to the goal. We are talking about a boy who has more goals than minutes played and that can only be a gift." This is evident from Güler's stats in the limited time he played during the 2023-24 season: six goals in 440 minutes, averaging one every 73 minutes.

Ancelotti is also open to using Güler as a midfielder when necessary, especially with Kroos no longer available and Tchouameni expected to spend considerable time as a center-back. The concern here is Güler's defensive role and his physical limitations in covering a lot of ground: "It is a limit that he has, he must improve there and he is doing so," said Ancelotti.
