The bombshell broke on Wednesday when El Chiringuito de Jugones reported that Saudi Arabia's Al Ittihad had presented a hefty financial offer to convince Antonio Rüdiger to move to Saudi Arabia. The player's brother and agent is already aware of the proposal and is not against the move. However, Real Madrid's center-back's position was yet to be known.

Fabrizio Romano has shed light on the situation. According to the Italian journalist, the German has no intention of leaving the Santiago Bernabéu, especially at this stage of the pre-season. Romano explains on his 'X' account: "Despite the reports about the great proposal from Al Ittihad, Antonio Rüdiger is not even considering leaving Real Madrid this summer. Completely focused on the Real Madrid project, there are no plans to join the Saudi Pro League now despite the interest. The feeling is mutual; Real Madrid consider Rüdiger untouchable."

As it stands, Rüdiger faces his third season at Real Madrid with an undisputed role. The German, who was possibly one of the best center-backs in the world last season, will start again as a starter following the departure of Nacho and the absence of David Alaba, who is not expected back until October or November.
