The severity of Antonio Rüdiger's injury, which forced him off during Real Madrid's match against Espanyol, has now been confirmed.
"Following tests conducted by the Real Madrid Medical Services, Antonio Rüdiger has been diagnosed with an injury to the femoral biceps in his right leg. His recovery is pending evolution," the club said in an official statement.
Although Real Madrid typically does not provide specific timelines for player recoveries, it's estimated that the German defender could be sidelined for around 20 days. This comes at a crucial point in the season, with key matches including a Copa del Rey clash against Leganes, the Madrid derby with Atlético next week, and the two Champions League fixtures against Manchester City on February 11 and 19.
