Arda Güler has returned to Real Madrid after enjoying his vacation following Turkey's early exit from the World Cup and has already begun preseason training under José Mourinho.
The Turkish playmaker has rejoined his teammates at Valdebebas and is among the players working under Mourinho during the Portuguese coach's second spell in charge. Güler has made a positive impression since his return and also spoke to Real Madrid's official media during a training session.
The 21-year-old expressed his excitement about being back with the squad and his determination to make the most of the new campaign after a difficult season. "I missed home. I'm really happy to start working so I can always perform at my best."
Güler also spoke about working with Mourinho, describing the experience as a major opportunity. "It's a great opportunity to work with a legend like him. He and his staff explain everything very clearly. They are also very honest off the field."
When asked about the objectives of preseason, the midfielder emphasized the importance of both physical preparation and adapting to the new coach's ideas. "The most important thing is to work on our physical condition, but also to listen and learn what Mourinho asks of us so we can perform well on the pitch."
Looking ahead to what will be his fourth season at the club, Güler ended with a message that reflected his ambition and commitment to Real Madrid. "I've learned a lot and improved a lot, but my enthusiasm has never changed. I want to win everything, just like on my first day, and make the Madridistas happy. Hala Madrid!"
