Raúl Asencio is close to undergoing surgery to address the tibial injury in his right leg that has been causing him discomfort since the beginning of the year. The pain has persisted, and another episode of discomfort in the affected area could ultimately lead to the decision to operate.
Surgery has been a possibility for Asencio since the end of last season, when the option was already being considered. The summer was viewed as a suitable period to undergo the procedure and allow the player to complete the lengthy recovery process.
If surgery is confirmed, Asencio is expected to be sidelined for around two to three months, meaning he could remain out of action until approximately the beginning of next year.
