Real Madrid have officially announced that, following a meeting of the club's Board of Directors, an offer worth €150 million was submitted to Atlético Madrid for the transfer rights of Julián Álvarez.
According to the statement, Atlético Madrid reviewed the proposal and thanked Real Madrid for the offer, highlighting the good relationship between the two clubs. However, the offer was ultimately rejected, with Atlético referring to the player's release clause.
Julián Álvarez's release clause is reportedly set at €500 million, a figure that effectively rules out any immediate possibility of a transfer. The Argentine forward also remains under contract with Atlético Madrid until 2030.
As things stand, Atlético Madrid have no intention of negotiating the departure of one of their key players, leaving Real Madrid facing a significant obstacle if they wish to pursue the striker further.
