Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham made an unexpected return to Valdebebas on Thursday, just days after the team began their 2025-26 La Liga preseason on Monday.
The 22-year-old England international has been recovering from shoulder surgery he underwent in July to correct a chronic dislocation. His presence at the training ground, albeit limited to recovery work, signals encouraging progress in his rehabilitation, with hopes of a full return by October.
Bellingham’s visit comes as Xabi Alonso’s squad continues to intensify preparations for their La Liga opener against Osasuna on August 19 at the Santiago Bernabéu.
The preseason has been complicated by several key absences, including Endrick and Ferland Mendy due to injury, as well as Franco Mastantuono, who can’t begin training until August 14. Despite these challenges, Bellingham’s early involvement, even in a limited capacity, has lifted the spirits of the fans.
