Bellingham's secret diet to perform at the highest level

Nowadays, Jude Bellingham is the fashionable boy of Spanish and world football. His start with Real Madrid has been spectacular. Chef Alberto has experience in some of the most renowned kitchens in the country, including Akelarre by Pedro Sibijana, where he served as head pastry chef, the Palace Hotel in Barcelona, the Celler de Can Roca, and DiverXO by David Muñoz in Madrid. Extensive professional history in fine dining establishments that all have received Michelin Stars. Currently, he takes charge as director of the SUMMUMM cooking school, a new gastronomic proposal of different styles, as a home cook, what players demand most.

Before joining Real Madrid, Alberto called Bellingham to outline his ideas, and the Englishman quickly agreed to it. They started working together as soon as he arrived at the white club, and the outcome has been spectacular.

"He follows a typical diet, just like any other athlete. We make an effort to switch between animal and plant proteins. He is 20 years old and his recovery is amazing. He doesn't have to be extremely strict, but he is very professional and likes to take good care of himself," says Alberto.

Alberto claims he eats four meals a day when asked about his diet. "For breakfast you can have a piece of fruit with a bowl of muesli. Then, foods that are very light in fat. What he eats is chicken, rice, pasta and vegetables."

Regarding fish, which he does not eat every week, Alberto explains that "he alternates it. The important thing is to calculate everything and thanks to a computer system we measure the player's parameters to add some things and take out others."

So, there are no major secrets on his menu. The same item that cannot be missed from the English diet is a favorite breakfast choice in Bellingham: yogurt with chia seeds and oatmeal. He frequently eats toast for snacks, and low-fat meals are frequently served for lunch and dinner.

Alberto, who makes it very clear that "no matter how much you prepare a mega diet, the important thing is to have a good mentality," assures that Bellingham is "a wonderful person."

Furthermore, Alberto, who has worked with players for many years, adds that Cristiano Ronaldo is the one guiding young people in the direction of nutrition and self-care. "I believe Cristiano has been very beneficial for football in this regard because he has professionalized many areas that may not have previously been as important. Today, in order to perform well on the field and be a top player, you must perform at your peak because it is no longer enough to simply have talent; you must have talent and also work like an athlete."
