Jude Bellingham has now undergone surgery to finally resolve the lingering shoulder issues that have plagued him since his days at Borussia Dortmund, a condition that worsened in late 2023 after an awkward fall during a match against Rayo Vallecano.

Since that incident, the English midfielder has played with protective armor to minimize further damage, but it never truly relieved the ongoing discomfort. Tired of pushing through pain, Bellingham made the decision to undergo surgery, aiming to put the problem behind him and return fully fit for the 2025-26 season. A necessary and strategic pause to restore peak condition.

The procedure took place in London under close supervision from Real Madrid’s medical staff, and the club is working with an estimated recovery time of 12 weeks. There’s no rush to accelerate his return; the plan is to have him back at 100% by mid-October.

While Bellingham’s absence will be felt at the start of the campaign, the silver lining is that two international breaks fall within this period, reducing the number of matches he’ll miss with Real Madrid.
