One of Real Madrid's many unresolved issues this season, Karim Benzema's future, appears to be in the process of being resolved. The former Lyon striker has reportedly already reached an agreement with Los Blancos to extend his contract for another year, according to the French newspaper L'Equipe.
His current contract was due to expire in June of this year, but with this renewal, he will extend it by another year, bringing his total number of seasons with the club to 15.
When it comes to older players, Real Madrid always follows the same procedure: after each season, they review their contracts and decide on the player's future based on his performance and position. For instance, it is the same case for Luka Modric. At the end of the season, the Croatian's contract will expire, along with those of Nacho, Kroos, Asensio, and Ceballos. But as of now, nothing has been done about their renewals.
As per the same source, Benzema's renewal will be made official in the upcoming weeks.
