Real Madrid star Karim Benzema was one of the French players invited by president Emmanuel Macron to attend the World Cup final between France and Argentina on Sunday. However, the Real Madrid striker has refused the invitation, Le Parisien report.

The invitation has been accepted by N'Golo Kante, Paul Pogba, and Presnel Kimpembe, who were omitted from the team due to injuries.

Benzema left France's training camp in Qatar due to an injury he sustained prior to the tournament's start. However, he was not taken off the squad and will win a silver or gold medal, depending on how the final game turns out.

Despite this, the 34-year-old will not be present at Lusail for the final. According to earlier rumors, the main cause is his tense relationship with coach Didier Deschamps.
