Real Madrid has completed its Club World Cup squad by calling up nine youth players who do not yet hold first-team contracts. Among them are seasoned prospects like Chema and Jacobo, as well as emerging talents such as Fortea. Some are returning players who have already debuted with the senior team, like Víctor Muñoz and Diego Aguado, while others have just completed their time with Castilla and may not remain at the club next season. However, players like Fortea, Chema, and Aguado are seen as serious candidates for future first-team roles. And when it comes to Gonzalo, the club prefers to stay silent; time will tell.
In recent seasons, Real Madrid has sold several homegrown players, such as Miguel Gutiérrez, Nico Paz, and Álex Jiménez, all of whom remain under partial club control through buy-back clauses or future sell-on agreements. If an offer arises that interests both the player and the club, it will be assessed carefully.
Participation in the Club World Cup inevitably puts young talents in the spotlight, drawing interest from other teams. One such player is Diego Aguado, a center-back who has impressed Real Madrid’s sporting department and is expected to be a key figure in Arbeloa’s Castilla side next season.
Weeks ago, it was reported that Borussia Dortmund submitted an offer for Aguado, which was rejected. However, the German side is expected to return with a more lucrative proposal in the coming days in hopes of convincing Madrid's decision-makers at Valdebebas.
Dortmund’s offer includes first-team opportunities, an attractive prospect for any young player, but Aguado remains committed to proving himself at Real Madrid. For now, he is training in Palm Beach with the senior squad, and any final decision will be made after the Club World Cup concludes. What does seem certain is that Aguado has secured his spot in Castilla for the upcoming season.
