Cameras from El Día Después on Movistar captured a moment of visible frustration from Vinicius Junior toward Xabi Alonso during Real Madrid’s match against Betis on Sunday.
After being whistled by a section of the Bernabéu crowd and following a tense exchange with Marc Bartra that further fueled his irritation, the Brazilian winger expressed his dissatisfaction to the coaching staff. Vinicius felt that he was not receiving the ball often enough from his teammates.
According to lip-reading analysis shared by El Día Después, Vinicius specifically referenced Gonzalo, who would later become the hero of the night with a hat-trick. “This is impossible, they have to pass the ball,” Vinicius said. “Everyone here wants to dribble and then they boo me. Tell Gonzalo he has to pass it once. Not always, but at least once.”
