If any doubts remained about Carlo Ancelotti’s future at Real Madrid, they were erased on Saturday night. Despite being under contract until 2026, the Italian coach will depart the club. Ancelotti, visibly shaken after Real Madrid’s Copa del Rey final defeat to Barcelona, admitted as much during his post-match press conference at La Cartuja: "I'm hurt," he confessed.

Ancelotti is well aware that his second spell in charge of Los Blancos is coming to an end. However, he won't be out of work for long. His next destination is set to be none other than the Brazilian national team — arguably the most prestigious side in football history. A "consolation prize" that few would refuse.

According to Sky Sports this Sunday, Carlo Ancelotti is now very close to taking charge of Brazil. The outlet reports that "talks will continue in May" and that "the Italian is expected to leave Real Madrid next week."

All signs point to Ancelotti's final days at the helm of Real Madrid. His likely successor is Xabi Alonso, although Solari could temporarily step in to lead the team during the Club World Cup.
