Dani Carvajal has found himself at the center of controversy following claims made by content creator Gerard Romero on his Jijantes channel.

Romero accused the former Real Madrid captain of advising Rodri against signing for Real Madrid, suggesting that this played a role in the midfielder ultimately joining the club's eternal rivals. However, Carvajal was quick to respond to the allegations.

Throughout the day, Romero's claims spread across social media and were picked up by several publications. Carvajal eventually responded on Instagram to one post referring to the accusation.

The Real Madrid defender could not have been more direct. From his personal account, Carvajal simply replied: "Lie."

With that response, the Leganés-born full-back firmly denied the claims made by Jijantes and rejected the suggestion that he had advised Rodri against joining Real Madrid.

Romero's allegation has not been supported by any additional sources, while Rodri himself has never suggested that his move to Barcelona was influenced by third parties. The midfielder's decision is instead understood to have been influenced by Barcelona's stronger financial offer and Real Madrid's inability to create enough space in their squad for him.
