Dani Carvajal is on the verge of returning to competitive action, with the former Real Madrid captain set to join Getafe. ABC reported this morning that an agreement between the right-back and the Azulones was imminent, with the final details settled throughout Tuesday. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano subsequently confirmed the move with his trademark "Here we go" announcement.
Getafe president Ángel Torres has also effectively confirmed the signing. Speaking to DAZN, he was asked about the status of the deal and replied: "We just need LaLiga and me to reach an agreement. He's passed his medical."
Torres' comments confirm that an agreement with Carvajal is in place, with the remaining step being the formalization of his registration with LaLiga. The Madrid-born defender is therefore close to securing his return to top-level European football.
