Real Madrid has been grappling with a lack of fluidity in the center of the pitch since the start of the season, primarily due to the absence of Toni Kroos following his retirement. This gap has been evident since their European Super Cup victory against Atalanta in Warsaw, which marked the beginning of the Whites' campaign.
In an attempt to address this issue, Carlo Ancelotti included Dani Ceballos in the starting lineup during the fourth match of La Liga, after Madrid had drawn with Las Palmas. However, just hours after the transfer window closed, and with Ceballos on the brink of a move to Real Betis, the midfielder suffered a severe ankle injury during the match against the Verdiblancos.
Now, there is positive news for Real Madrid. Ceballos participated in yesterday's training session alongside those who didn’t play or were substitutes in the recent game against Lille. While his return won’t be in time for the Villarreal clash, he is expected to rejoin the squad after the international break.
