Trent Alexander-Arnold's future at Real Madrid is becoming increasingly uncertain ahead of the January transfer window. The English right-back has struggled to secure the expected role under José Mourinho, raising the possibility of a departure if his situation does not improve and an attractive offer arrives.

Chelsea have emerged as potential suitors and are reportedly monitoring the defender's progress closely. The London club view the England international as an appealing option to strengthen their squad, although there is currently no confirmation of formal negotiations between the two clubs.

A lack of regular playing time has been one of Alexander-Arnold's main challenges since joining Real Madrid. He has found it difficult to establish himself as a first-choice option, with competition for the right-back position limiting his opportunities. Mourinho has also turned to alternative solutions, including deploying Fede Valverde in the role, highlighting the difficulties Alexander-Arnold faces in securing a regular place.

Despite his situation, the Englishman remains committed to Real Madrid and has not publicly expressed a desire to leave. Any potential January move would depend on his performances over the coming weeks and the terms of a possible offer from Chelsea, who could become one of the clubs to watch during the winter transfer window.
