The CIES Football Observatory has published a list of the biggest spending football clubs over the last decade. Chelsea leads the ranking, having spent an astounding €2.78 billion on transfers since 2015. Manchester City comes second with €1.96 billion, closely followed by Manchester United, who have spent €1.95 billion.
Several other Premier League clubs, including Tottenham, Arsenal, Liverpool, West Ham, Aston Villa, Everton, and Newcastle, also feature prominently. Outside of England, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich make the list. Despite their reputation for big signings, Real Madrid only ranks 12th in terms of total spending.
These rankings underscore the Premier League’s dominance in transfer expenditure, with English clubs occupying most of the top spots.
