On Saturday, May 28, Clément Turpin will take charge of the Champions League final between Real Madrid and Liverpool at the Stade de France (9pm CEST). It will be the Frenchman's fifth time officiating a Real Madrid match in this competition.

The first meeting took place during the Group Stage of the 2014/15 season, when Real Madrid defeated Ludogorets 4-0. The following one was against Roma in the 2018/19 Group Stage, which Real Madrid won 0-2. On matchday three of the 2020/21 Group Stage, Real Madrid defeated Inter Milan 3-2 at the Alfredo Di Stéfano. The last time was in the Champions League quarter-final first leg between Chelsea and Real Madrid on April 6, which Ancelotti's side won 3-1.
