Former Real Madrid player Claude Makelele recently shared details about a conversation he had with Antonio Rüdiger before the center-back’s move to Real Madrid. In an interview on 'FreeFoot,' Makelele, who enjoyed a close relationship with the German defender, revealed that he encouraged Rüdiger to join the Spanish giants when the opportunity arose.

“When he got the chance to sign for Real Madrid, he came to me and asked, 'What do you think?' I told him to run and take it. He had offers from Bayern and PSG, but I said, 'Do you want to win big titles? You’ve already won some, but if you want to take your career to the next level, Real Madrid is where you need to be. Go there, play alongside great players, and you’ll truly understand what it means.' I’m really happy for him,” Makelele shared.

Makelele, who played for Real Madrid for three seasons and appeared in 145 official matches, understands the significance of wearing the Whites’ jersey. A key player in the 2002 Champions League final, he went on to win six more trophies during his time at the club.
