Thibaut Courtois is expected to miss Belgium's participation in Euro 2024 in order to recover from the injury to the anterior cruciate ligament sustained in August.
There was some hope that Courtois could return in April or May of this season, based on the timeline, but it looks like Courtois is prioritizing the next campaign already. Let's remember that the Belgian goalkeeper was stretchered off in training just days before the 2023-24 season was scheduled to begin.
According to RadioMarca, Courtois has already informed Real Madrid that he will not go with Belgium to the Euros this summer in order to focus on reaching full fitness, alongside goalkeeping coach Luis Llopis, ahead of the next season.
If that is the case, it is a bold choice considering how few players choose not to participate in a major tournament. However, at thirty-one, he might feel he has little left to give the Red Devils. Additionally, there have been rumors of conflict within the Belgian team, which could also be a factor.
