Cristiano Ronaldo recently sat down for one of the most anticipated interviews of the year, speaking at length with Edu Aguirre on LaSexta. In the exclusive conversation, Ronaldo opened up about a wide range of topics, from his personal life to his footballing career, including his much-discussed departure from Real Madrid in 2018, when he moved to Juventus for €110 million.

Addressing one of the most talked-about moments in football history, Ronaldo explained the real reason behind his exit from the Spanish giants: "My cycle was complete; I wanted new motivation. Leaving Madrid didn’t wear me out. The president agreed to my departure, though he didn’t handle the negotiations as well as I would have liked. He wanted to go back, but I had already given my word to Juventus." Despite the way things ended, Ronaldo expressed his continued respect for Florentino Pérez and didn’t rule out the possibility of returning to Real Madrid in some capacity once his playing career ends: "We exchange messages from time to time. I don’t rule out coming back one day to do something special."
