Vinicius Junior has frequently expressed his admiration for Cristiano Ronaldo and even voiced his regret for not being able to play with the Portuguese at Real Madrid. Over the years, the two outstanding players have developed a close friendship, and now Ronaldo sent his match shirt of the Portugal-Liechtenstein game to the current Real Madrid No. 7.
Ronaldo's gesture follows Vinicius' imitation of the renowned "Calma" celebration, for which the Portuguese player gained popularity while he was playing in the Spanish capital, after the Brazilian scored in Real Madrid's 5-1 rout of Valencia on November 12. The Bernabeu supporters were thrilled to witness Vinicius recreate their legendary celebration, yelling "Vinicius Junior, lolololo!" in honor of their young forward.
Let's remember that Vinicius has a special place in his house, which he calls the 'icons wall', where some of the most legendary athletes of all time are honored. It is a special mural, painted by Spanish artist Rene Makela, and Ronaldo is one of the sportspeople who features on the wall alongside Brazilian icons Pele and Ronaldo Nazario.
