José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes, president of the Spanish National Sports Council (CSD), has called on Javier Tebas to retract his remarks comparing Real Madrid TV's communication methods to those used by Joseph Goebbels, Nazi Germany's Minister of Propaganda, and apologize to the club.

"The comparison made by Mr. Tebas is unacceptable, and I ask him to retract it and apologize to Real Madrid," Uribes told EFE on Saturday during an event in Manises, Valencia.

The CSD president believes Tebas's comments go beyond the limits of legitimate criticism, particularly given his position as LaLiga president. "I think that in Spain, freedom of expression, which is a fundamental pillar of democracy, has very broad, very extensive margins, but in no case does it ever include a reference to Nazism or Goebbels in relation to a Spanish La Liga club," he explained. He added: "Furthermore, since it was said by the president of La Liga himself, there is a double responsibility."

Uribes acknowledged that criticism is part of football but argued that Tebas's comparison was disproportionate. “I think that from an ethical, political, and sense of responsibility point of view, it's such a huge disproportion that I believe Mr. Tebas should apologize to Real Madrid,” he stated.

He also highlighted Real Madrid's role in representing Spanish football internationally, describing any association between the club and one of the darkest periods in European history as “absolutely unacceptable”.

The CSD's legal department is also examining the matter. Uribes confirmed that he had commissioned an analysis to determine whether Tebas's remarks could lead to disciplinary consequences, although no decision has been made so far.

Meanwhile, Tebas has defended his comparison, accusing Real Madrid TV of presenting content in which the club "always appears as the victim," selecting material that fuels its sense of grievance while leaving out the context.
