The Technical Committee of Referees (CTA) has reviewed the main controversial incidents from El Clásico on its weekly program, Tiempo de Revisión (Review Time). Among the actions analyzed were Alejandro Balde's possible handball and João Cancelo's challenge on Diomande.
The first incident involved a potential penalty for a handball by Balde. During the match, referee Martínez Munuera described the defender's arm position as natural, a decision subsequently backed by the CTA. The committee ruled the incident not punishable, explaining: "Balde and Mbappé are both vying for the ball. It strikes the defender's arm accidentally. He is in a natural position due to the dynamics of the play."
The CTA also examined Cancelo's tackle on Diomande, concluding that the challenge warranted a yellow card. "He dribbles the ball and initiates an attacking move. Cancelo makes partial contact with Diomande's leg. There is no excessive force or brutality," the committee stated.
It added: "It was a reckless challenge; the referee should have shown a yellow card."
