David Alaba made a triumphant return to Real Madrid after 399 days, following a long recovery from a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. His comeback took place during the match against UD Las Palmas, and after the game, he was warmly congratulated by President Florentino Pérez, his teammates, and the club staff.

In an interview with Real Madrid TV, the Austrian defender expressed his joy, saying: “I am very happy. It is a special day for me. I thank the fans. I have waited a long time for this moment because last year was very hard and long. I have worked very hard every day waiting for this moment. Coming home has been very nice.”

Alaba also showed appreciation for the support he received during his rehabilitation: “The team has helped me a lot and without my teammates, the medical team, the physiotherapists, and the rehabilitation specialists it would have been harder. They have helped me a lot every day by working very hard every day.”
