The injury list at Valdebebas continues to grow, with Jacobo Ramón's muscular problems adding to Ancelotti's defensive concerns. Real Madrid is now preparing to finish the season without Dani Carvajal, which only deepens the defensive crisis. While the recovery of David Alaba could provide some relief, his return to the field is still some time away, according to Relevo.

Alaba has been sidelined since December 17, 2023, when he suffered a serious knee injury during a midfield action against Villarreal at the Santiago Bernabéu. The Austrian defender tore his anterior cruciate ligament and sustained damage to the meniscus in his left leg, which has kept him out of action ever since.

This type of injury is one of the most severe that a footballer can experience. Alaba has been training individually at Valdebebas and has already missed half of last season, as well as the European Championship over the summer. While he initially aimed to return in October, Relevo now reports that he will likely return in January, just as the winter transfer window opens. This would mark a thirteen-month absence—much longer than originally anticipated.

Recent weeks have shown encouraging signs in Alaba's recovery. According to Relevo, he is regaining his form and sensations, but he still needs time before reaching his elite level once again. Despite the extended layoff, Alaba remains highly valued at the club, responding with great professionalism throughout his rehabilitation.

For Carlo Ancelotti, Alaba is a vital part of the squad, particularly with the current wave of injuries. Although there is no intention to rush his return, the club is eager to have him back on the pitch as soon as possible, with a potential return date set for early 2025.
