David Beckham and Zinedine Zidane, two legendary "Galácticos," left an indelible mark on both their national teams and Real Madrid. During their three years together, they were part of an unforgettable squad alongside stars like Ronaldo, Roberto Carlos, Figo, and Raúl.
Beckham recently shared a fond memory of Zidane during an interview on First We Feast. He recalled a touching moment they experienced before Zidane’s final game for Real Madrid.
At the last training session, Beckham was sitting in the locker room when Zidane approached him. "He sat down next to me and said, 'David, I just want to tell you that it’s been a pleasure playing with you these past few years.'" Beckham was deeply moved by the French maestro’s words.
Excited by the heartfelt exchange, Beckham immediately called his friends to share what had happened and even phoned his father, saying, "Dad, Zizou just told me this."
Both players went on to score in that emotional final game on May 16, 2006, during the last matchday of La Liga. Real Madrid lost 4-3 to Sevilla. Zidane marked the occasion by scoring his final goal for the club, while Beckham netted two goals.
