Davide Ancelotti was in Madrid this weekend and attended Real Madrid’s emphatic victory over Betis at the Santiago Bernabéu on Sunday. His visit combined leisure with professional duties, as he closely followed the performances of Vinícius Júnior and Rodrygo in his role as assistant coach of the Brazilian national team.

After the match, Ancelotti spoke to El Chiringuito, where he addressed his current situation and future plans, while also expressing support for Xabi Alonso. “I’m on vacation and came to support Real Madrid. The lucky charm is here, but you have to earn it. I’m happy I brought them some luck,” he said jokingly.

Davide also confirmed that his next objective is to focus on preparations for the upcoming World Cup as part of Brazil’s coaching staff. “I’m going to help my dad,” he added.

While avoiding an in-depth analysis of Real Madrid’s current sporting situation, Ancelotti did not hesitate to praise and defend Xabi Alonso. “Xabi is a fantastic coach and a wonderful person. I only have good things to say about him because we’ve shared some great moments. I wish him and Real Madrid all the best,” he stated.

Addressing speculation linking him to a potential role at Real Madrid should Alonso depart, Davide was firm in his response: “None of that. I’m at a different stage of my professional life. I’m just a Real Madrid fan and a friend of Xabi Alonso, nothing more.”

He also briefly commented on the boos directed at Vinícius Júnior during the match, downplaying the situation by saying: “Not everyone.”
