Real Madrid could soon welcome back Jude Bellingham, earlier than initially expected. According to DAZN journalist Sergio Quirante, the English midfielder is in the final stage of his recovery and could make his return to action later this month.

“The signing for Real Madrid is Bellingham. He could return in the derby against Atlético,” Quirante reported, hinting at a comeback in one of the most highly anticipated matches of the early season.

Bellingham, a fundamental piece in Xabi Alonso’s system since his arrival, underwent shoulder surgery in mid-July, shortly after the Club World Cup. The procedure aimed to permanently fix recurring dislocation issues in his left shoulder. Both the player and the club opted for surgery to end the problem once and for all, even though it meant missing the opening matches of the campaign.

His rehabilitation has gone according to plan, and barring setbacks, the 22-year-old is expected to rejoin group training after the international break. That would put him in line to feature in the Madrid derby at the Metropolitano, scheduled for the final weekend of September.

For Alonso, Bellingham’s return would be the perfect boost ahead of a decisive clash, almost like a “new signing” to reinforce the midfield in one of the season’s toughest fixtures.
