Dean Huijsen wasted no time showing why some of the Premier League’s biggest clubs were eager to secure his signature.
In his debut against Osasuna, the young centre-back attempted more than 15 long balls — matching and even surpassing Sergio Ramos’ benchmark. No other Real Madrid defender has attempted that many in a single La Liga match before Ramos, and now Huijsen.
What made the performance even more impressive was his precision. Huijsen completed his passes at a remarkable 94.1% accuracy, comfortably outshining Ramos’ 88.2% from when he set the record back in 2018 against Leganés.
Throughout the game, the Spanish defender frequently stepped into midfield, distributing the ball with confidence while maintaining composure at the back. A commanding debut that hinted at what could be a special future in Madrid.
