The signing of Yan Diomande by Real Madrid is entering its final stages after weeks of negotiations with RB Leipzig.
According to Mario Cortegana, the Madrid club is close to reaching a complete agreement for the Ivorian forward's transfer. This information is also supported by Sky Sports Germany, which reports that the operation is now in its final phase.
The deal has taken longer than initially expected. After an agreement appeared to be practically completed, the transfer faced complications due to a dispute involving the player's image rights, which raised concerns about a possible intervention from FIFA.
However, those issues now appear to have been resolved, and negotiations have progressed significantly. According to Sky Sports Germany, Real Madrid will pay between €130 million and €140 million for Diomande's signing.
If confirmed, the transfer would become the most expensive in Real Madrid's history, surpassing the €127 million invested in Jude Bellingham.
Everything points towards Diomande becoming a Real Madrid player for next season, although the club has not yet revealed when the official announcement will take place.
