Álvaro Rodríguez is set to continue his professional journey at Elche after an agreement was finalized between Real Madrid and the newly promoted club. The Uruguayan striker, who spent last season on loan at Getafe, will now look to establish himself in LaLiga EA Sports with Elche. As part of the deal, Real Madrid retains 50% ownership of the player’s rights.

Although his spell under José Bordalás at Getafe didn’t produce standout numbers—three goals and one assist across 26 appearances—Rodríguez has remained a player of interest for multiple LaLiga clubs. In the end, it was Eder Sarabia’s Elche who pushed hardest to bring him in.

Rodríguez’s physical presence, close control, and finishing make him a natural fit for Sarabia’s system, an approach that served the coach well in the Second Division and one he intends to carry into the top flight. For Elche, fighting to stay in LaLiga, securing a player of Rodríguez’s profile is seen as a major boost from the outset.
