The Real Madrid City pavilion hosted an emotional tribute and farewell ceremony for Sergio Rodríguez, a revered figure in the team and European basketball. Rodríguez ends his illustrious career with Real Madrid after eight seasons and 17 titles. The event was graced by the presence of club president Florentino Pérez, who presented Rodríguez with the club's gold and diamond insignia. Also in attendance were honorary president José Martínez Pirri, members of the Board of Directors, and notable figures from the basketball world, including Juan Carlos Sánchez Lázaro, Chus Mateo, and several current and former teammates and legends.

The ceremony featured a touching video showcasing Rodríguez's career highlights, followed by remarks from Pérez: “Dear Sergio, dear Chacho: we Madrid fans are experiencing a day of intense emotions today and that is why we all want to offer you our immense 'Thank you' for what you have represented for Real Madrid and for the world of basketball.”

He continued, “For me, as president of Real Madrid, it has been a great honor to have a player like you. Beyond the titles and what you have achieved with this shield and this shirt, we will forever remain with your way of being and with your love.”
