Fabien Causeur will not continue at Real Madrid next season after failing to reach an agreement to extend his contract, which ended on June 30. The Frenchman, a key figure in the team's recent golden age, had hoped to stay but was not convinced by the club's offer of a one-year extension, leading to a mutual decision to part ways.

This past season, Causeur averaged nearly 15 minutes per game in the ACB (5.8 points) and slightly more in the Euroleague (5.1 points). Although his on-court role was more limited, he remained a crucial figure in the locker room, contributing to the veteran core that established high standards of performance and unity, propelling Real Madrid to one of its most successful eras.
