Facundo Campazzo is frequently referred to be one of the EuroLeague's most electrifying players. He will now return to Real Madrid after playing for Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade for a brief period.

A week after the contract was made official, the Argentine sat down to talk about the reasons why he decided to come back to Madrid.

"I'm not going to be stupid, but my decisions are not going to be based mainly on money. I put many more things on the scale. Money is a factor, but not the main one. That's how it went," Campazzo said.

"I feel at home in Madrid and have many ties to Real Madrid, both on and off the court, so I decided that this was the place I needed to make an effort to be. I received other offers, but I believe Madrid offered a more favorable overall project," he clarified. "In the end, I never had a doubt about it."

Campazzo joins a team that has just won the EuroLeague. He will replace Nigel Williams-Goss who in turn came back to Olympiacos.

"You usually have the highest expectations when talking about Madrid. You try to be in contention to win the EuroLeague, the Super Cup, the Copa del Rey, and the ACB. To get there and win it," he said about the goals for the upcoming season.

"That is the responsibility and pressure of playing for Madrid. It won't be an exception. They come from winning the Euroleague, but when a season begins, you set the same goal as during the previous one," Campazzo continued. "I feel super motivated and excited to be there. The adaptation process will not be difficult."

Campazzo will have more time to prepare for the upcoming season as the Argentine national team failed to qualify for the 2023 FIBA World Cup following a disaster in the qualifying round when they fell to the Dominican Republic in the final match.
